I often do water beads, which is a great distraction, but require a bit of prep. This also takes some prep, but if you have any flax seeds at home, you can make flax slime with 1/2 cup flax seeds & 2 cups water. This needs to be set in the refrigerator for 24 hours. You might want to take it out of the fridge for a bit before giving it to the kids just because it might be too cold. I also put some fish figurines in blue gelatin in muffin pans. You have to spray the muffin pan with cooking spray or they won’t come out (I often make that mistake).. Some prep the night before using flax seeds, water beads or gelatin.
